Jackie Barnes is a Senior Examiner for the ISTD Modern Theatre & Tap faculties. She is the ISTD Lead Examiner for the Tap faculty, an ISTD Deputy Lead Examiner for the Modern faculty & was a member of the ISTD Modern Theatre Committee for over 11 years.
A lecturer for both faculties; she has been able to realise her two lifetime ambitions;
Jackie Barnes gained a Cert.Ed in Performing Arts (post compulsory sector) from the Institute of Education (University of London) specialising in the education of dance teachers.
Jackie Barnes is an ISTD Approved Tutor, a DDE (Modern Theatre & Tap) & Licentiate (Modern Theatre & Tap) Examiner, ISTD Lead Examiner in Tap and Deputy Lead Examiner in Modern Theatre & specialises in training people to achieve ISTD ‘qualified’ dance teacher status and beyond. She is an Assessor for a wide range of ISTD Teaching qualifications & has an extensive knowledge of their requirements. Jackie is a registered Mental Health First Aider, as well as a Physical First Aider.
